Home Wireless Network Setup

Linksys is mostly used Wireless router at home and small office Network. Check this article for Linksys router setup for easy steps. This router is very easy to setup and you can do it manually. You do not need any installation CD or any kind of software. Simply Open the setup page of the Linksys router and change the settings manually.

Below are the setup steps.

Step 1: Make connection to the router. Modem to Internet port on the router. And computer to one of the Ethernet ports on the router.

Step 2: Open the settings page of the router. The default IP address of almost all the Linksys router is 192.168.1.1 . Open the Internet browser and in the address bar type 192.168.1.1. It will ask you for user name and password. The default Linksys router password is "admin", leave the user name blank. See this link for list of default Linksys router password .

If the default password is not working then you may need to reset Linksys router to factory default settings. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 10 seconds. Release the button and wait for 30 seconds. Now try to open the setup page again.

Step 3: Once you are on the setup page. Change the Internet connection settings of Linksys router according to your Internet service provider.

Step 4: Change the wireless network settings. Change the SSID of your network. This will be the name of your wireless network. Secure the wireless network. Remember the wireless network key, Or make a note of this key.

Step 5: Now try to connect to the wireless network on your wireless devices.
